Archery paralympics of this year’s Summer Paralympics 2024 are in full swing. India’s Sheetal Devi grabbed world’s attention to the archery paralympic events with her inspiring skills and personal story.
Despite archery needs limbs strength and fitness, Sheetal Devi is the only para-archer in the world who do not have limb. Not enough for champion, Sheetal Devi have made India pround in Para- Asian Games in 2023 with gold medal win.

On 12:30 PM, 1st September, elimination round will be played between Republic of South Africa VS Turkey (Individuals)

Immediately after the RSA vs Turkey there will be an interesting individuals between China’ HAN Guifei vs KOR’s PARK Hong Jo. This will be a 2nd elimination round of today in men’s singles paralymic archery event.

On 13:04 pm today, France’s Damien Latulle and Hungary’s Tamas Gaspar will compete against each other to make an entry into quarter finals ahead. This will be a crucial match of both countries as this a also an elimination round.

After above match, another elimination round will be there between Italy’s Paulo Tonon and Finland’s Jean Pierre Antonios.

This last elimination round will be be between United States’ Jason Tabansky and Brazil’s Eugenio Santana Franco. People of USA can have an eye on this match on 13:38 PM today and support the USA Paralymic archers.

After USA vs Brazil archery elimination round there will be quarter final rounds and semi-final round today itself.

Sheetal Devi’s inspiring story
India’s Sheetal Devi inspired whole world and made people watch this year’s archery paralympics.
Sheetal Devi is the only para-archer in the world without any two of limbs. She holds the ‘compound bow’ in her left leg and pulls the arrow with the help of her sholder and chin.
Sheetal Devi was born in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. She is just 17 years old and this makes it her this year’s youngest paralympic player in summer paralympics 2024 of Paris.
When Sheetal Devi once attended an Indian Army’s event, the spirit and motivation between her definitely sparked. Indian army’s officer and her teacher helped her dream to be an archer. But her motivation and hunger for success made her passionate to grab the hold in Para-Asian Games.
Sheetal Devi awarded India’s one the prestigious award in sports, the ‘Arjuna Award’. Sheetal Devi also received an award of Best Youth Athelet of the year in 2023 by Asian Paralympic committee in 2023.
Family background of Sheetal Devi
Father of Sheetal Devi is farmer and mother is a shephard in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Sheetal comes from very humble and poor family background.
Sheetal Devi is so grateful of her father and mother that she told in a recent reality show in India, KBC, that after her ‘golden’ game in Para-Asian games, those relatives and neighbours started meeing her dad and mom, who used to say Sheetal cannot do this big and living in the woods.
Afterall, to conclude Sheetsl Devi is an inspiration for all of us. Sheetal Devi may not have limbs but she got wings !
